Director KYC (DIR-3 KYC)
File by 30 September, or the DIN is deactivated.
Every person holding a DIN files KYC each year by 30 September, whether or not they are currently a director of anything.
Miss it and the DIN is deactivated. Reactivating costs ₹5,000 and, while it is deactivated, that person cannot sign any MCA filing — which in a small company usually means the company's own filings stop too.
Where nothing has changed since last year the web-based DIR-3 KYC-WEB is enough; a change of mobile or email requires the full form.
What is included
- DIR-3 KYC or KYC-WEB as applicable
- OTP verification of mobile and email
- Digital signature attachment and professional certification
- Filing acknowledgement
What we need from you
- PAN and Aadhaar of the director
- Personal mobile number and email for OTP
- Passport, for a foreign national
- Active DSC
Questions
What happens if DIR-3 KYC is not filed?
The DIN is marked deactivated after 30 September and stays that way until you file with a ₹5,000 fee. A deactivated DIN cannot be used to sign any MCA form, so the company's own filings are blocked with it.
