Change of Registered Office
Within a city, across a state, or between states.
The difficulty scales with how far the office moves. Within the same city it is a board resolution and INC-22. Outside the local limits but inside the same ROC jurisdiction adds a special resolution. Between ROC jurisdictions or between states needs approval from the Regional Director in INC-23, with notice to creditors and the state government.
The address on the MCA register drives where every statutory notice is served, so an out-of-date one means notices arriving somewhere nobody reads them.

Questions
How long does an interstate registered office change take?
Six to eight weeks. It requires a special resolution, MGT-14, an application to the Regional Director in INC-23 with notice to creditors and the state, a hearing, and then INC-22 once the order is issued.
