NGO Darpan Registration
The unique ID a grant-seeking NGO needs.
NGO-Darpan is NITI Aayog's register of voluntary organisations. The unique ID it issues is a precondition for applying for grants from most central ministries, and it is required on an FCRA application.
Registration needs the organisation's registration certificate, PAN, and the Aadhaar or passport of at least three office bearers.
It is free, and the details have to be kept current — a change of office bearers that is not updated will hold up a grant application later.

Not in itself, but the unique ID it issues is required to apply for grants from most central ministries and to apply for FCRA registration. In practice any NGO seeking government or foreign funding needs one.
