Digital Signature Certificate (DSC)
Class 3 DSC, issued the same day.
A Class 3 DSC is what signs an MCA filing, a GST return, an income tax return for a company, an EPFO submission or a government e-tender. Class 2 was discontinued in 2021.
It is issued against video and Aadhaar-based verification and comes on a FIPS 140-2 compliant USB token, which is a legal requirement — the key cannot be stored on a hard disk.
Validity is one, two or three years. Three is usually the cheapest per year.
