FCRA Registration
Before you accept a rupee from abroad.
No Indian NGO may accept foreign contribution without registration under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, or prior permission for a specific donation from a specific donor.
Registration requires three years of existence and at least ₹15 lakh spent on the core activity over those three years. A newer organisation must take the prior permission route instead.
Every recipient must hold an FCRA account at the State Bank of India, New Delhi Main Branch — foreign contribution has to land there first, and only afterwards move to a utilisation account.

Can a new NGO receive foreign funding?
Not by registration, which requires three years of existence and ₹15 lakh of spend on the core activity. It can apply for prior permission for one specific donation from one specific donor, which is the usual route for a newer organisation.
